[slideshare id=53204629&doc=5tipstoincrease-2-150925180516-lva1-app6892]

#1 USE HASHTAGS

Hashtags are an easy way to reach out to specific target group on any social media channel. Instagram uses a maximum of 30 hashtags, so you need to know your industry specific hashtags currently floating e.g. #FashionLovers, #ILoveFashion, etc. Don’t limit yourself, keep on experimenting with them as social media is all about that!

#2 INTERACT

Being not social on social media makes no sense of your existence on social media! Explore social media, get into conversations (avoid being creepy), tag people with similar interests, simply interact with people and be social.

#3 BE AUTHENTIC

By being authentic, I am not focusing on 100% pure fun, but I want to express that don’t be a brand on social media, brands do that a lot, be a person, be human, be natural. It’s social media, keep the fun!

#4 SHARE & CONNECT

Repost your fan pictures, that helps in creating a bond between your customers, they feel more connected and you are pictured as a likable brand. People are good promoters of brands on social media, keep a track of such people and reshare their content, ask for co-branding opportunities and get connected.

#5 GEO-TAGGING

Geo-tagging helps in getting connected to people of the same locality, set up an event and your brand can be on visual photomap! Don’t leave this space empty, I have seen many brands do that, just utilize the space and see the difference!

Do let me know which one was the most effective tip from the above, do share other tips which I missed out on! Love to hear from you!

3 Ways to increase Social Media Post engagement with visuals

As you know visuals are the key in social media, if your images are not shining on your page then your brand is not shining as well. So without further ado here are 3 tips which can help you increase your post engagement with some changes in the images!

Quality

Living in the HD world quality of image is so essential! I often come across pixelated images posted by brand and blurry as well which are very disturbing. Hence pick eye catching images when you are browsing for a good image and maybe you won’t be confident of your choice but then trying is necessary in social media than not trying, experiment, change the type of images, wait and see the reaction of your audience. If you are out of all the good pictures, do check out my old blog post for inspiration, 3 Free Image Websites. I once uploaded a good quality picture and it come out to be bit blurry, it was hard to locate problem but so I tried uploading a .PNG file and volla! It worked! So whenever stuck, don’t stop, try something!

Trigger

Continuing from the point above, experimenting with your images is essential in social media, it not only adds a variety to your content but also you get to know what is working and what is not working. And when you get to know what is working, you now hold the trigger to post engagement my friend! And about the ones which are not working can be used to focus on the “whys” and the “won’ts”. But it is a package deal, so the sole image itself is not the hero of the movie, the content, CTA, etc. also are variable factors to the engagement.

CTA

So we have everything in the post for the engagement which is a good quality image to capture the audience attention and we know what triggers our people, so what will I do to make them engage even more? I go for simple CTA, ask them a question, maybe related to the picture, ask them of their opinion, ask them to sign up, etc, make them question, now what? where from this beautiful image? As I was once told by an expert, always end your post with a question for you will hear

there are many answers and many to answer!

So do you agree with my 3 engagement tips? Or you have something more to share? Love to hear!

Tips for branding on social media images

I often come across a good quality image on social media, with good content on it but then stop myself from sharing it because there is too much of branding done on the image. Does that happen with you as well? It’s just some brands are doing it right with their content on social media but they kill it while executing with their creatives. Here are my tips on how a brand can optimize their social media images while putting the right amount of branding in it.

[slideshare id=45844504&doc=tipsforfanengagement-150315001039-conversion-gate01]

#1 Blend in

Some brands just over power the image with their logos all over. Hence the shareablity of the image decreases, so logos should blend in with the image, not shout out.

Try to be as minimal with branding as possible

#2 Avoid too much of branding

Too much of branding can just kill the content. I’ve seen a single post with 3 different logos, a logo of the company, another one of parent company and the third of the client. I was confused as hell with what they’re trying to put across & whose  product was it actually of!

Avoid too much of logo placing

#3 Share Friendly

Think of this like, what makes you share an image on your profile? When you are doing so you not only think of points which needs to be included on the image but also of the points you don’t like on an image. As for people’s opinions & feedback as this with provide you with a holistic viewpoint.

Should be share friendly but should also keep branding in mind

#4 Watermark

Watermark are best way to do branding without being too much on the face with logos. But I’ve also seen brands with too much of watermarks on their pictures! That too should be avoided only one watermark will do.

#5 Different ways to get credit for you image

You do branding on your image so that you get credit for the image & it’s content. Try different ways to brand your image with playing across your logo a bit, or putting credit text on the post followed by the image, etc. Just play around with the content & image in order to minimize the branding effect & see what works.

#6 Be Graceful

Branding is an art, and it should be done graceful! The more subtle you are with branding on social media the more people like your content. As social media is not about branding but it’s about connecting the brands with people.

Try utilizing from these points on your next post & see if it works or not! DO share your feedback too, I would love to hear!

5 Steps for Designing with Effective Visual Communication

Designing plays an important role in visual communications and with the basics of design in place one can easily achieve this objective. Even though there are many rules in designing, here are 5 of the most important ones according to me in order to create an effective communication with visuals :-

[slideshare id=43990975&doc=lessons1-150128063840-conversion-gate01]

#1 TYPOGRAPHY

The fonts should be legit and appropriate and in tune with the communication.

#2 COLOURS

Not more than 5 colours should be used. If there is requirement of more colours, add more colours while playing along with the shades of the colours used.

#3 ICONS

Use simple and easy to understand icons. Icons which are universally accepted are the best option. As they are used to enhance the appearance not distract from the topic.

#4 ILLUSTRATIONS

They should be in tune with the content and tone. They should be added only to enhance the content.

#5 SIMPLE

Keep it minimal. Don’t get over-boarded with the illustrations, charts, content, etc. Just keep it simple and to the point. The simpler the better to understand and connect.

Various other dimensions also play an important part w.r.t. effective communication like spacing, call to action, etc. Do share what you think also adds to the above list too!

5 steps to get the most out of Twitter Bio

Twitter bio is what describes ‘about you’ in just 160 words! Yeah for many it’s too less of space to write about yourself, so you need to make the most out of it to shine out! Here are my 5 steps to get the most out of twitter bio –

[slideshare id=43820371&doc=ultimate-150123062449-conversion-gate02]

Merge with the crowd

Twitter is the place you need to find like minded people from all over! Yes you can be witty and funny in your Bio but that will probably eat up the space in your bio instead of showing off your real potential. Connect with people with simple words which describe you and play it safe. So when you are being ordinary you can connect with more people easily.

Be precise and be honest

When you are forwarding your true identity on twitter, people connect instantly. People want to follow you for what you can offer, the more real you are the more interested they become.

Be legit, be you

People want to follow real human beings and when you put forth your identity with your genuine profile picture, your job title, @company where you are working, etc to your bio, that just adds more to your true identity and makes it more legit.

Use #tags , @, links or symbols

These can help those who are searching for profiles like yours connect easily. Use #tags which you generally use, your website link, @ mention the company you are working with currently.

Highlight your achievements

Just showcase what your potential is, what you can offer, #photography #motivator #creative. By doing this you can add a new dimension to your profile.

Your twitter bio is what makes the first impression on your profile. First impression is the last impression so make it Legendary! Do let me know if you have some more pointers to add to this list!

Do add your company logo for branding. In footer you can add references links, your company address, links

#4 Creation tools

There are plenty of creation tools like canva, Picmonkey, ease.ly, photoshop elements ,etc. Try them out to know which one works for you better. I do recommend canva as it is easy to use and has variety of vectors to work with. The end result is also very professional and visually appealing.

Distribution is very essential for content to work on social media. Publish the infographic on blog by writing a blog about it, set up an embed code of it and promote it on all social media channels.
